BRUSSELS – Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global public relations and public affairs firms, announced today the appointment of Monica Radulescu as Strategic Planner.
Based in Brussels, Radulescu will work across the Public Affairs, Corporate Communications and Consumer Marketing teams. She will also play an active role within the regional planning team, which now boasts eight members covering strategy, creative, digital and key influencer engagement.
Radulescu joins Weber Shandwick from JWT in Bucharest, Romania, bringing more than ten years’ experience in the field of strategic planning. This is a newly-created role for the Brussels office; it is envisaged that Radulescu’s expertise will cement Weber Shandwick’s strategic planning offer and the development of wholly integrated campaigns for both international and local market clients. Radulescu will also support regional new business efforts for the agency.
During her time at JWT, Radulescu worked as a senior Strategic Planner and as Head of Digital. Her client roster included companies such as Nestlé, Erste Bank, OMV, Mondelez and Unilever. Radulescu’s work has been acknowledged by numerous industry accolades – indeed, her award-winning campaigns have been recognised at the Effies and the Cannes Lions.
Commenting on the appointment, Annick Boyen, CEO of Weber Shandwick Brussels, said,
“We’re delighted to be adding Monica to our team. Her appointment marks a long-term investment by the business to further strengthen our senior leadership, but also to support our ambition to develop ground-breaking integrated campaigns – those that can drive real engagement, spark action and solve our client’s core business challenges. Monica brings a real passion and expertise to our business. I’m confident she’ll be an invaluable partner in the coming years.”
Speaking about her new role, Monica Radulescu said,
“Joining Weber Shandwick is a thrilling career move. Communications has evolved so much over the last three years; a lot of agencies talk about engagement, but few actually fully understand what drives people to engage with brands, businesses, issues and causes. Weber Shandwick has been at the forefront in applying the latest thinking to unearth compelling insights and strategies that build engaging campaigns. In that spirit, it’s a real honour to be joining at such an exciting time for the agency. I am really looking forward to the challenges the role presents.”
