Last week, Weber Shandwick MENA was named 2016 Agency of the Year by the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) at the MEPRA Awards gala in Dubai. The team was awarded the accolade in recognition of its innovative and inspiring work throughout the Middle East and North Africa region.

Jamal Al Mawed, Regional PR & Corporate Communications Manager, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, and Chairman of the MEPRA Judging Panel, commented: “This year we looked for the agency that showed the ability to grow despite the challenging market conditions, without compromising their fee structures, quality of staff or existing client relationships. The agency was also honoured with two category wins – best Live Event, Launch or Stunt for the Global Women’s Forum Dubai awareness raising campaign, and best Financial Communications for the ‘VAT:EY Takes the Lead’ campaign for Ernst & Young.

The Middle East Public Relations Awards programme is an annual celebration of creativity and innovation in the public relations and communication industry. Honourees are selected by an independent industry panel, based on creativity, effectiveness and results achieved.
