Mónica joined Weber Shandwick in Brussels in 2013. She has fifteen years’ experience in the development of advocacy strategy and campaigns and is a crisis communications specialist, with core strength in advising on business reputation issues.
Mónica has worked across a variety of sectors including energy, food & agriculture, health, luxury and technology; with client experience that includes Bayer CropScience, Cargill, European Respiratory Society, FoodDrinkEurope, Levi Strauss & Co, Louis Vuitton-Möet Hennessy, Microsoft, Roche, Sanofi-Pasteur MSD, the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline and the Zero Emissions Platform.
Before joining Weber Shandwick, Mónica worked for FTI Consulting for six years, during which time she managed the establishment and launch of the Shale Gas Europe and Shale Gas España industry platforms. Prior to this, Mónica was with Hill & Knowlton Belgium managing communications campaigns for the European Commission Directorate-General Research, Directorate-General Employment and Social Affairs and the Joint Research Centre.
Mónica holds a degree in journalism and cultural communication from the Catholic University of Lisbon. In addition to Portuguese, Mónica is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
