Account (or Associate) Director Healthcare

The Healthcare Practice at Weber Shandwick Brussels has an exciting opportunity for an Account Director or Associate Director (depending on level of expertise and experience) to join and co-manage our fast-growing team. This position will be responsible for managing significant client relationships and leading project work both locally and across markets.  This strategic role includes Brussels and pan-European public affairs and communications assignments for our clients, managing client budgets, developing new business, growing existing accounts and training and developing junior staff.

He / She will act as practice lead and report to the Public Affairs Director.

Job description

  • Lead and manage client relationships and run key accounts
  • Manage and coach junior team members, including identifying skills and allocating team resources
  • Take client briefs and develop effective public affairs strategies and programmes
  • Assume responsibility for quality control of client work produced by team in compliance with the highest standards
  • Oversee and meet financial targets on each client project and contribute to overall company
    profitability
  • With support from senior management, provide leadership to new business and practice development in the Healthcare domain
  • Interact with senior management and input into the firm's broader development strategies as applicable

 

Requirements

  • An advanced degree in public affairs, business, communication, law, public administration and/or a field closely related to Healthcare public affairs is a must
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years' experience as a consultant in a public affairs agency or equivalent in-house or government experience 
  • Excellent knowledge of EU healthcare policy and stakeholder environment
  • Ability to develop in-depth understanding of clients' issues and apply strategic thinking
  • Superior writing skills and extensive experience in positions that required writing and editing of messages, reports, articles, briefings, speeches, and other materials
  • Strong motivational and managerial skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proven aptitude in problem-solving and making critical decisions
  • An English native speaker is preferred;  fluency in any additional European language is a distinct advantage
  • Must be eligible for full residence and working rights in Belgium

Account Manager – Octagon

Our sister company, Octagon Consulting Belgium has an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join their fast-growing team. This position will be responsible for Supporting management of MasterCard’s European sponsorship portfolio staff. He / She will report to the Account Director.

Job description

  • Program Planning and Management
    • Support Account Director with strategic planning and development of Activation Plans for the various sponsorship platforms
    • Support liaison with other MasterCard departments and strategic agencies to ensure maximum integration, as appropriate
  • General Sponsorship Consultancy Support
    • Support in evaluation of incoming proposals
    • Support in preparing presentations/communications
    • Support with internal communications, including internal “resource center” for markets to have access to Best Practices, insights, research, etc.

Research & Measurement

Account Manager - Corporate Communications

Professional Requirements:

  • Experience in working with Brussels-based media; knowledge of broader European media is a bonus
  • Needs to demonstrate a solid understanding of ICT sector policy issues
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in positions that required writing and editing of messages, reports, articles, briefings, speeches, and other materials
  • Sublime project management skills

Key responsibilities

Candidate Requirements

  • You passionately and closely follow the latest developments within the context of traditional, digital and social media closely and communicate them to your colleagues
  • You should be able to work as an integrated part of the team, managing issues as they arise and encouraging enthusiasm through the practice group
  • You should have excellent time and workload management skills
  • Flemish should be your native language, with fluent verbal and written understanding of French and English
